When we first met this lovely couple in Menai, they were understandably anxious about the move ahead. Having lived in their family home for nearly 30 years, they had accumulated a lifetime of memories, furniture, and household belongings. Their large home, complete with a basement and spacious garage, contained far more than could comfortably fit into their new retirement residence.
To make the transition as smooth as possible, we worked closely with the couple every step of the way. We carefully reviewed the floor plans of their new duplex to determine exactly what furniture and belongings would fit comfortably in the new space. This planning process helped prevent unnecessary items from being moved and ensured their new home would remain practical and uncluttered.
The downsizing process began with sorting and donating a significant amount of furniture and household items to a local charity. We also identified several quality pieces that were suitable for auction and arranged for these items to be delivered to an auction house on the clients' behalf. Any unwanted or unusable items were responsibly removed and disposed of at a local waste facility.
Over a number of sessions, we gradually reduced the contents of the home to a manageable and carefully selected collection of belongings that would suit their new lifestyle. Once the downsizing was complete, our team professionally packed all remaining items, carried out the relocation to their new duplex, and fully unpacked and set up their new home.

Once the house had been cleared, Alex was able to arrange for painters to refresh the interior, allowing the property to be presented beautifully and placed on the market.
